Ribbon cutting at Roye-Williams Elementary School Ben Carson Reading Room

The Carson Scholars Fund recently opened the ninth Ben Carson Reading Room sponsored by Stack & Store Self Storage at Roye-Williams Elementary School. The school hosted their opening day ceremony and ribbon cutting on Wednesday, May 28, at the school.

“Roye-Williams Elementary School is honored to be the recipient of a Ben Carson Reading Room,” said Principal Rose Martino. “Thanks to the generous support of Stack and Store Aberdeen, we were able to bring our ‘Enchanted Forest’ theme to life—creating a magical, calming space where students can nurture their love of reading.

Our staff is excited to provide a welcoming environment filled with high-interest books that spark curiosity and imagination. We believe this room will inspire students to explore new worlds through reading and build lifelong literacy skills. We are truly grateful to be part of the Ben Carson Reading Project and to offer this enriching opportunity to our school community.”

The Ben Carson Reading Project, founded by retired world-renowned pediatric neurosurgeon and New York Times bestselling authors Dr. Ben Carson and his wife, Candy, is an initiative of the Carson Scholars Fund. The purpose of the Ben Carson Reading Project is to create a literacy-enriched environment for children to become proficient and enthusiastic readers.

The Carson Scholars Fund has a long and storied history with Stack & Store dating back to 2003 when they sponsored the reading room at Edgewood Elementary School.
